Volunteer at the Capital City Farmers Market

Capital City Farmers Market Volunteer Opportunities

About the Capital City Farmers Market

The Capital City Farmers Market (CCFM) is a longstanding community farmers market in downtown Montpelier dedicated to supporting local farms, food producers, artisans, and small businesses throughout central Vermont. The market creates a vibrant public gathering space centered around local food, economic opportunity, community connection, and regional agriculture.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Capital City Farmers Market welcomes community volunteers throughout the year. Volunteers help support a weekly gathering that brings together farmers, prepared food vendors, artists, nonprofits, musicians, and thousands of visitors over the course of the season. We are currently seeking volunteers every Saturday from 7:30 AM–2 PM through October 31st. Volunteers are welcome to join for any portion of that time, though most shifts are approximately 2 hours long.

Volunteer Work Includes

Volunteer tasks vary week to week and can include: market setup and breakdown, assisting with tents, tables, chairs, and signage, greeting and way-finding, trash and recycling support, general market assistance, light organizational and operational tasks, and assisting with fun and informative events.

There are opportunities for volunteers looking for no lifting, light lifting, and moderate/heavy lifting.

Our greatest volunteer needs are typically early setup shifts (7:30–9:30 AM) and end-of-day breakdown shifts (12–2 PM), but any amount of help is sincerely appreciated.
